Pescia Antiqua

Filed under: Uncategorized — Darren & Malcolm @ 8:48 am

Every 4th Sunday of the month. Pescia holds a Sunday market of antique furniture.  The atmosphere is lovely,as you can see there are antiques but also lots of other stalls in the old Piazza Mazzini.  These stalls are selling plants and flowers and many other goodies, and walking around there always seem to be someone we know.

There are many markets any day of the week in the area to visit, always friendly and always interesting.  You can find them in other local places such as Monticatini Terme, Pisa and Lucca.

Monticatini is an interesting town, and only a few miles away from Pescia. It is a little like Harrogate or Leamington Spa.  Here you will find thermal bath houses and lovely old hotels and villas rising up  the hillside.  We have been around the town on a Sunday and walked in the park where they have the most fantastic maritime pine trees.  It is a leisurely place to wander and have lunch in one of the many open-air cafes.
